With over ten years of experience in the geological industry, Allison is a Geological Engineer and Project Manager specializing in geotechnical concepts, environmental site assessments, remediation, and solid waste management across northeastern Minnesota. She has led numerous impactful projects that have contributed to environmental protection in the region while facilitating responsible development.
Allison works closely with state and federal agencies to ensure that projects meet environmental regulations and are executed in a responsible manner. Known for her problem-solving abilities, she excels in managing complex projects, identifying innovative solutions for challenges that others might overlook.
Outside of her professional responsibilities at NTS, Allison serves on the board of the Range Engineering Council and enjoys working with local students to introduce them to engineering and the sciences, showing her commitment to both her profession and her community.
With over three years of experience in the construction material and mining/energy sectors, Amy began her career as a lab technician and has since advanced to the role of Lab Manager. She has developed a comprehensive understanding of lab practices while providing support to geotechnical engineers. Amy specializes in wet chemistry analysis, particularly iron determination and silica content analysis, and provides BTU analysis services to energy clients. Her skill set also includes proficiency in various construction material tests, such as grain size analysis, hydrometer testing, Atterberg limits, and Proctor tests.
Amy combines her scientific expertise with a strong ability to analyze and report data, ensuring high standards of accuracy and clarity in all deliverables. As Lab Manager, she works closely with clients to maintain customer satisfaction, providing ongoing project support while maintaining a strong safety culture within the lab. Amy previously served as the Safety Committee Chair and continues to promote high safety standards in day-to-day lab practices.

With 30 years of experience in environmental analytics and data management, Brandy is the Environmental Data Management Lead at NTS. She began her career at the NTS laboratory in 2000 as a chemist and returned after spending 13 years at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as an advanced chemist. In her role at the DNR, she specialized in accreditation compliance and regulatory data review for various environmental programs, including NPDES, drinking water, groundwater, surface water, and soil remediation.
Brandy’s expertise spans laboratory analysis across commercial, government, industrial, and wastewater settings. She has extensive experience in metals, inorganics, organics, and microbiological analysis, including specialized analysis of low-level mercury, PFAS, Whole Effluent Toxicity, PCBs, pesticides, and hazardous waste. Brandy has completed formal training with EPA Region V, further enhancing her understanding of environmental regulations and compliance standards. She is an active member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), where she stays current on the latest advancements in environmental science.
A longtime resident of the Iron Range, Brandy’s family has deep roots in the community that span five generations. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the region’s breathtaking outdoors and relaxing by the lake with her family.
With over 10 years of experience, Corey is a senior Environmental Field Scientist and Project Manager. He is skilled in a wide range of tasks, including well, river, and stream monitoring and sampling, project coordination, scientific instrument maintenance, wetland delineation, and conducting biological assessments using fish, macroinvertebrates, and aquatic vegetation. Corey’s extensive skill set makes him an ideal representative of NTS’s broad range of services.
Corey holds certifications in areas such as Aquatic Invasive Species (DNR), professional wetland delineation, and EPG pump maintenance. In previous projects, he has managed NPDES compliance in stormwater permitting for the mining operations in the Iron Range.
Outside of work, Corey enjoys spending time in the outdoors, fishing and hiking with friends and family.
With over 25 years of experience in the environmental field, Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. As Quality Control Officer, he oversees the quality management system and collaborates with the team to drive continuous improvement.
Craig has extensive experience managing environmental laboratories, with a strong focus on delivering accurate data. His strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail ensure high standards in quality, compliance, and data management.
Outside of work, Craig enjoys spending time with his family and friends, fishing, playing golf, and traveling with his wife.
With over a decade of management experience in construction, industrial manufacturing, and mining, Dan joined the NTS team in 2025 as the Drilling and Construction Materials Manager. Dan is a believer in taking jobsite safety seriously and desires to keep safety as the first consideration for the team he leads. He has been a team member on several projects to optimize business productivity, such as 5S initiation, implementing manufacturing software, creating and revising SOPs, and sourcing improved materials. Dan has an associate’s degree in accounting and has served as a First Responder.
Dan’s focus is to bring efficiency and productivity to the NTS team by providing oversight, managing projects, and planning. He is a determined individual who will work with the geotechnical engineers to maintain the quality and increase the capabilities of the drilling and CMT teams.
Outside of work, he volunteers to work with teens and children in his church by coordinating or speaking at events. He enjoys anything adventurous and outdoors, such as mountain biking, hiking, skiing/snowboarding, fishing, hunting, camping, etc. He has a wife and 3 boys who are almost always a part of his adventures.
With extensive experience in financial analysis, process improvement, and project management, Emily specializes in contract oversight, risk assessment, and aligning business operations with strategic objectives. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies and is a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), accredited by the Project Management Institute. She is currently pursuing an MBA at Saint Cloud State University (expected 2025).
At NTS, Emily plays a key role in financial budgeting, software implementation, and project management. She led the planning and execution of a $1.3 million office build-out and directed the transition to a new business management software system, providing training and technical support to improve workflow efficiency. Before joining NTS, she was a Regional Manager at a nationwide dental practice, overseeing multi-location operations, financial planning, and team management. She also has experience in education and healthcare administration, where she focused on data analysis, compliance, and process optimization.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys outdoor activities such as boating and fishing, working out, and spending time with family.
With over a decade of experience, Evan is a licensed Geotechnical Engineer who has been with NTS since 2011. He serves as a project engineer for geotechnical and hydrogeological projects and is the technical manager of the Construction Materials Laboratory.
Evan is the Western Director of the Engineers Club of Northern Minnesota and holds various certifications, including FAA Remote Pilot, MDH Licensed Environmental Well Driller, and Radiation Safety Officer. His expertise includes slope stability, foundation design, geotechnical subsurface exploration, hydrogeology, solid waste design, conventional surveying, and remote sensing (UAS).
He also oversees the drilling department, which operates two geotechnical and environmental drill rigs: an Eijkelkamp SRS-ML rotosonic drill and a CME 550X auger rig.
Outside of work, Evan enjoys tinkering with technology, spending time with family, running a hobby farm, and pursuing outdoor activities.
With 45 years of experience in the mining industry, Frank is a Senior Geologist with expertise in mineral exploration, mine planning, and reclamation. He holds a Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a Master’s degree in Management from the College of Saint Scholastica.
Frank has worked in both the U.S. and Canada in roles including grassroots mineral exploration, exploration drilling, core logging, and grade control geology in underground and surface mining. His experience also includes project management, ISO 9000 auditing, technical writing, and engineering support. He is an MSHA blue-card holder and a Minnesota Department of Health Responsible Individual License holder for wells and borings, mentoring employees on workplace safety.
Outside of work, Frank is a strong advocate for responsible mining and environmental stewardship.
Jenny has built a robust career in the environmental consulting field, leveraging her extensive knowledge and experience to manage complex projects. Her qualifications, including a Bachelor’s in Geology and a Master’s in Law, combined with her certification as a Professional Geologist, enable her to navigate the intricate process of environmental site assessments and investigations with confidence.
Her leadership extends to overseeing a wide range of tasks within the environmental consulting realm. She specializes in critical areas such as conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), performing Phase II Investigations, and developing strategies for managing soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor contamination. Additionally, Jenny’s role involves facilitating the development of sites for redevelopment, including environmental cleanup and pre-demolition inspections, as well as handling the intricate technicalities of wetland delineation and geotechnical evaluations.
By working with diverse stakeholders, including private equity firms, government agencies, legal professionals, and business entities, Jenny ensures that projects are aligned with legal and environmental regulations. This collaboration helps drive successful environmental solutions for a variety of properties—ranging from residential to commercial and industrial uses. Jenny’s 20+ years of expertise ensures that these complex, often contaminated, sites are effectively assessed and managed for future use.
With over seven years of experience in environmental consulting and wastewater operations, Jon is a Chemical Engineer specializing in environmental compliance, data management, wastewater treatment, pilot project management, and statistical analysis. He holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer and Class C Wastewater Operator in Minnesota.
At NTS, Jon plays a key role in developing and managing projects, including the creation of Minnesota’s first full-scale landfill leachate PFAS treatment system. His strong technical expertise and attention to detail have made him an asset in working with industry and Minnesota environmental regulators to navigate environmental rules.
Outside of work, Jon enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and board games.
Justine Henry is dedicated to driving organizational success through strategic HR leadership and safety management. She brings over 15 years of diverse experience in Human Resources, having held various roles throughout her career. Holding an M.S. in Human Resources Management, and certification as both a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), demonstrates her deep expertise in the field. In addition to her HR credentials, she has over 5 years of experience as a Certified Safety Manager, further enhancing her ability to foster safe and productive workplaces.
In addition to her professional work, Justine serves on the Laurentian Chamber Board of Directors and is the Past Chair of the Chamber’s Legislative Committee, actively contributing to the growth and development of the local business community.
With over nine years of experience in the environmental sciences, Karissa is one of our senior Data Management Professionals and has been with NTS since 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Prior to starting her career at NTS, Karissa spent over two years in the analytical laboratory where she was an analyst for various water quality analyses.
During her time with NTS, she has been involved in database design and implementation, work flow design, and SOP development. She is dedicated to accurate and consistent data storage, analysis, and reporting; and strives to ensure a high-level of data quality for each client. Karissa is skilled in NPDES permit compliance and DMR reporting, Industrial Stormwater reporting, data verification and validation, and technical report writing.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Environmental Engineering. Katrina has worked on a wide range of projects related to NPDES, stormwater management, and industrial compliance.
Katrina specializes in gathering accurate data and navigating regulatory frameworks. Her strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety standards are key aspects of her role. As Field Science Team Lead, she oversees the field teams and ensures that environmental compliance projects are executed efficiently and in line with industry regulations.
In addition to her professional work, Katrina is involved with the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME), where she supports advancements in the mining industry. She enjoys curling, golf, and fishing, and actively participates in community-building activities.
With over 15 years of experience in environmental compliance, Kurt is a Project Manager at NTS. He holds an ecology degree from Michigan Tech and is a licensed MPCA Class C Wastewater operator and MDH Class D Drinking Water operator. Kurt also holds a certificate in Stream Morphology from the MN DNR. Since joining NTS in 2008, he has focused on surface and groundwater monitoring, NPDES permits, and baseline environmental studies. In 2010, Kurt transitioned into project management, where he has overseen NPDES permit compliance and environmental studies related to Environmental Impact Statements and permit applications, particularly in the mining industry.
Kurt specializes in environmental compliance within the mining sector, managing projects related to NPDES permit compliance and ecological services. His experience spans across the Iron Range, where he ensures that regulatory standards are met. His expertise in environmental monitoring and project management has made him a key member of NTS’ environmental team.
Kurt is deeply involved in organizations that promote mining education and industry outreach. He chairs the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) Foundation’s Minerals Education Coalition (MEC), where he directs programs to connect people with mining and mineral education. Kurt also chairs the Minnesota Section of SME and serves on the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee. Outside of work, Kurt enjoys fishing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Quetico Provincial Park and spending time with his family on vacations. He is also an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Babbitt, MN, where he lectors and serves on the parish council.
With over 20 years of experience in science and education, Lisa is part of the Geological Data Management team at NTS. She holds a master’s degree in chemistry and physics and is currently pursuing a master’s in chemical engineering. Her expertise includes environmental science, mineral processing, and regulatory policy. She has additional training in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) and is proficient in industry software such as JKSimMet, VisualMinteq, and Minitab.
Lisa has contributed to technical reporting and ore characterization efforts for green steel initiatives, applying her knowledge of ASTM E246 & E247 iron and silica tests. Her background includes state and federal mining and water policy, NPDES regulatory frameworks, hydrometallurgy, permitting, direct reduced iron, non-ferrous mining, and mineral beneficiation. She also has experience in process optimization, data management, project coordination, and technical writing. Before joining NTS, she spent 22 years teaching college chemistry, environmental science, and physics, developing a strong foundation in technical research and analysis.
Lisa has held leadership roles in several industry and community organizations. She serves as Vice-Chair of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) Foundation’s Minerals Education Coalition Board and has been involved with the Range Engineering Council and Better In Our Backyard. She has toured and taught about non-ferrous mining sites in Chile and has contributed to local education and sustainability projects.
With 23 years of experience in fisheries and wildlife ecology and management, Meadow is a Senior Ecologist with a Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Management from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Her work has spanned the Western and Upper Midwestern United States, focusing on a diverse range of vertebrate and invertebrate species and their habitats. For the past 16 years, she has concentrated on forested and aquatic systems in the Upper Midwest.
She has worked in state agencies, nonprofit conservation organizations, universities, and private contracting, giving her a broad perspective on how these entities interact. She has led and coordinated complex projects involving habitat restoration, species reintroduction, species-specific management plans, statewide training for natural resource professionals, and academic program accreditations. As a field scientist, she is known for her observational skills, leadership, and ability to navigate challenging projects.
Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities in all seasons. She is an experienced hunter, angler, and gardener and spends time exploring northern Minnesota’s river and lake systems through various water sports. She also continues to develop her artistic skills as a state- and federally licensed taxidermist.

With over 30 years of experience in environmental science, Scott is the NPDES/SDS Compliance Project Manager at NTS. He holds certifications in asbestos and lead risk assessment, as well as multiple DNR training courses, including Confined Space Training, Type 3 Waste Disposal Operation, and Wetland Delineation Support. Since joining NTS in 2009, he has worked extensively on NPDES/SDS permit compliance, Phase I & II site investigations, VIC and PRP program field investigations, groundwater monitoring, and environmental regulatory compliance.
Scott’s expertise includes emergency spill response, data reduction and statistical interpretation, and water treatment system support. His specialized knowledge makes him a key resource for projects involving hazardous materials across the Iron Range.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family.
With over 20 years of experience, Tracy is a Project Manager and Environmental Engineer at NTS. She is a Registered Environmental Engineer in Minnesota and holds a Professional Engineer License (#54807). Her certifications include Erosion and Stormwater Management (Construction Site Management and Design of Construction SWPPPs), MSHA, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, and OSHA HAZWOPER. Tracy oversees industrial compliance monitoring, well monitoring, stream gauging, and sample collection. She has extensive expertise in NPDES permitting and compliance, wetland and ecological services, and industrial stormwater management.
Tracy previously worked as an Environmental Control Engineer for U.S. Steel Corporation at the Minntac and Keetac facilities from 2004 to 2016. She has led significant permitting and compliance efforts, including the successful permitting of a demonstration scram mining project requiring NPDES/SDS, Air Quality, and wetland permits. She collaborates with local, state, and federal agencies to prepare Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements and has extensive experience with ISO 14001 Standards and Environmental Management Systems. Tracy is also an active member of the Iron Mining Association (IMA) Board of Directors, the IMA Environmental Committee, and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration.
Outside of work, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family at their lake home, where she boats and fishes. She is an avid gardener, growing her own plants and vegetables, and enjoys incorporating them into her cooking. As a dedicated sports parent, she encourages her children’s athletic pursuits, valuing teamwork and dedication both personally and professionally.
